I wasn't into isometric RPGs like this before, so DOS2 took me a little while to get into. Lmao well since you are spoiled for answers from experienced players, I'll give you a newbie's perspective. We were up until 4am playing xD He now plays on his own too getting all the achievements. I eventually said 'okay if buy it for you, will you at least try it'. My friend also disliked these styles of games, said he just won't like it. I now love it with almost 500 hours on the game, one of my top 5 games ever, I now play other similar games because of DOS2 and the music is phenomenal. I bought it after people highly praised it. I saw this game at release and passed on it even though it looked cool because of the top down perspective. Of course I will recommended this game, it's why a I follow this sub. Lone wolf is generally balanced but can make some situations too easy/hard but from my experience is more fun. Or you could just both control 2 characters each. You can get a perk called Lone wolf which works with 1 or 2 characters in your party allowing you to play without having a full 4 character party. Not only do you need to line up 4 schedules but it can take some time to take your turn, buy and sell items etc so the less amount of people in the game doing that the better. 4 generally would be better but for me that isn't really realistic. Highly recommend and you're getting mad bang for your buck.Ģ players is great for this game. Just on tutorial island alone (reapers eye) doing the main quest and most of the side quests took me just over 30 hours which doesnt even include the main meat and potatoes of the game on the mainland which im sure is probably another 100+ hours which is practically daylight robbery value for the amount I paid for the game. Needless to say, it might sound complicated at first, but its actually really easy to get into once but i recommend playing on an easier difficulty (explorer mode) first before trying classic mode as even starter enemies are no joke and will take you out if you're not careful.īut seriously i bought this game on sale and im already hours deep. This is like XCOM (which is the only game like DOS's combat which Ive played) and sight lines and character positions matter, and terrain plays a key factor in your decision making, whether its height or the type of ground you're standing in. This isnt your usual turn based affair where your party and the enemy stand in front of each other and take turns to launch skills at each other. I only picked up this game 2 weeks ago and right now im hooked and I cant believe why I ignored the game for this long. I used to just play actiom rpgs and never really gave DOS 2 the chance it deserved. Long answer: from a avid fan of getting my moneys worth out of RPG's, this one fits the bill perfectly. I personally don't like turn-based games and yet I had a blast with it, so you will have to be your own judge on that. It's an amazing game, for as long as you don't find the combat boring. My personal bit of advice, play with one character per person instead of a full 4-man party (if you're only two players you can pick the "Lone Wolf" talent that makes up for the lack of a full party by giving you extra actions per turn and more stats), that way the wait between turns will feel lower.Īs others have said, no one in this sub is going to tell you the game is bad or not worth it. The experience is definitely good for two people, but keep in mind this is turn based so that means there will be times where all you'll be doing is watch what your friend does with their turn. The campaign lasts for about 100 hours (give or take 20 hours). It's no indie game, and has received plenty of updates post-launch, so the price tag is fair (whether you will like it or not is a different issue). The game is definitely worth 18 bucks based on the quantity and quality of content.
